Bud Dupree ATL OLBChargers' Bud Dupree: Set to join Chargers
5h agoDupree will sign a two-year contract with the Chargers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Dupree reportedly recently met with both the Falcons and Steelers in addition to the Chargers, and it appears that he'll end up with Los Angeles. The veteran edge rusher enjoyed a solid bounce-back campaign with Atlanta last season, recording 39 tackles (his most since 2019), including 6.5 sacks (his most since 2020). Dupree will add to an already formidable Chargers pass rush that also includes Joey Bosa (foot), Khalil Mack and Tuli Tuipulotu.

10h agoThe Panthers waived Parker with an undisclosed non-football injury Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The details and severity of Parker's injury are unknown, other than the fact that it did not occur on the football field. The cornerback will now be available to be claimed off waivers should any other teams show interest.

10h agoWilliams was waived/injured by the Panthers on Friday due to an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
No details have been released regarding more information on the severity of Williams' injury. He will presumably revert to Carolina's injured reserve assuming he clears waivers, which means his 2024 season will be done unless both parties can reach an injury settlement.

There is no word on the severity of Manning's injury. Assuming he clears waivers, the guard will subsequently revert to Carolina's injured reserve. From there, he would need to reach an injury settlement with the team at some point lest his 2024 season comes to a premature end.

Bradlee Anae NYJ DEFalcons' Bradlee Anae: Inks deal with Atlanta
13h agoAnae (undisclosed) has agreed to terms on a contract with the Falcons, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
This news comes less than 24 hours after Anae's tryout in Atlanta. His 2023 season came to an end early, as the Jets placed him on injured reserve nearly one year ago with an undisclosed injury presumably suffered during offseason workouts. The defensive end's addition to Atlanta's roster indicates his health is back up to par, so he will now compete for a role in the trenches.

1d agoThe Texans waived Doaks on Friday.
Doaks spent most of the past two seasons with Houston's practice squad and had signed a reserve/future contract with the club in January. However, he was cut Friday after the Texans reshaped their running back room in the offseason by trading for Joe Mixon, adding Jawhar Jordan in the draft and signing British Brooks as an undrafted free agent. Doaks has yet to play a snap in the NFL.

Andrew Heaney TEX SPRangers' Andrew Heaney: Strikes out eight Saturday
2m agoHeaney allowed two runs on eight hits and struck out eight without walking a batter over five-plus innings, taking a no-decision Saturday versus the Rockies.
Heaney gave up a solo home run to Hunter Goodman in the third inning, and a second run was tacked onto his line when Jose Leclerc balked in a run in the sixth. This was another solid start for Heaney -- the eight strikeouts were a season high, and he issued zero walks for the fourth start in a row. He's at a 4.39 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 39:9 K:BB through 41 innings across eight starts this season, but he remains in search of his first win. Heaney is projected to make his next start at home in a favorable matchup with the Angels.

John Means BAL SPOrioles' John Means: Stumbles in second start
5m agoMeans escaped with a no-decision in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks, giving up four runs on six hits over 4.2 innings. He struck out three without walking a batter.
The southpaw got tagged for two runs in the third and fifth innings, but the Orioles scored in the eighth to tie up the game and take Means off the hook for his first loss before eventually walking it off in the 11th. He tossed 60 of 89 pitches for strikes, and he has a 3.09 ERA and 11:0 K:BB through his first 11.2 innings on the year. Means will look to sharpen things up on his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Mariners.

Ryan McMahon COL 3BRockies' Ryan McMahon: Breaks out with four hits
8m agoMcMahon went 4-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Rangers.
McMahon entered Saturday just 2-for-21 (.095) over his last six contests. The only downside to his performance in this contest was that all four hits were singles. The third baseman is up to a .303/.391/.462 slash line with five home runs, 21 RBI, 16 runs scored and no stolen bases over 39 contests this season. He's never hit higher than .254 or slugged better than .450 in a full season, so the first quarter of the 2024 campaign has essentially been McMahon at his absolute best, which consequently raises a red flag for regression later in the year.

Ryne Nelson ARI SPDiamondbacks' Ryne Nelson: Hit hard in no-decision
9m agoNelson came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings loss to the Orioles, giving up three runs on 10 hits over 4.2 innings. He struck out three without walking a batter.
Half of the hits off Nelson went for extra bases, including a pair of doubles by Ryan Mountcastle and a solo homer by Gunnar Henderson. Nelson has lasted past five innings only once in six starts this season, and he'll carry a 5.33 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 19:6 K:BB through 25.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Tigers.

11m agoBrebbia earned a save against the Guardians on Saturday by retiring all three batters he faced, including one by strikeout, in the ninth inning.
Michael Kopech has emerged as Chicago's primary closer early in the campaign, but manager Pedro Grifol opted to go to Brebbia in the ninth Saturday with the team holding a two-run lead. The right-hander got the job done, setting down the side in order on 14 pitches for his first major-league save since 2018. It's unclear why Kopech wasn't used despite getting Friday off -- it's worth noting that he notched back-to-back saves Wednesday and Thursday -- but if he has to miss time for any reason, Brebbia would be among a group of White Sox relievers who could snap up any save opportunities that arise.

Brenton Doyle COL CFRockies' Brenton Doyle: Picks up steal in win
12m agoDoyle went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Rangers.
Doyle opened May cold, going 2-for-23 over a six-game span, but he's bounced back by going 6-for-13 with two steals, four extra-base hits and three RBI over his last four contests. The outfielder is up to a .288/.336/.468 slash line with six steals, four home runs, 11 RBI and 24 runs scored through 152 plate appearances on the year. This was his first game with multiple walks all season -- he's posted a 5.9 percent walk rate and 27.6 percent strikeout rate which has limited Doyle's effectiveness despite his passable contact skills.

Chet Holmgren OKC CThunder's Chet Holmgren: Records 13/8/3 line in loss
2h agoHolmgren finished Saturday's 105-101 loss to Dallas in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 13 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, four blocks and one steal in 35 minutes.
Holmgren has struggled a bit against Dallas' defensive front through three games after averaging 15.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocked shots over four games against the Pelicans. The Mavericks have been able to stay fresh in the paint with Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively platooning at the five, and Jaylin Williams hasn't offered the same kind of secondary support. Holmgren has also failed to keep Luka Doncic off the glass, and he'll need to improve in several areas to keep the Thunder in the series.

3h agoWilliams totaled 16 points (7-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, eight assists and one block across 38 minutes during Saturday's 105-101 loss to Dallas in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Although Williams headed to the locker room with an apparent ankle injury, he eventually returned to the court and finished as the team's second-highest scorer. Williams has been an invaluable piece of the Thunder's game plan on both sides of the ball, and his DFS salary has steadily risen throughout the playoffs. Josh Giddey's inconsistent play has forced Williams to produce with more frequency, and although Luguentz Dort has shown signs of life in the postseason, his defensive prowess doesn't always translate to favorable fantasy totals. Along with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren, Williams will likely continue to be one of the team's best fantasy assets.

Gilgeous-Alexander continued his run of stellar production in the Game 3 loss. The All-Star averaged a stunning 28.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.2 assists over six playoff games heading into Saturday's contest, making him one of the league's most prolific postseason contributors. His most noticeable stat of the evening was a career-high five blocked shots. Prior to Saturday, the guard had recorded four swats three times in his pro career.

Washington enjoyed another splendid shooting night beyond the arc after draining seven shots from downtown in Game 2. The 23 shot attempts matched a season high for Washington, who is averaging 13.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.3 assists and 1.0 blocks in the playoffs. He's also converting 52.9 percent of his shots during the postseason.

Luka Doncic DAL PGMavericks' Luka Doncic: Plays through injuries in win
3h agoDoncic totaled 22 points (7-17 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-10 FT), 15 rebounds, five assists and two steals across 40 minutes during Saturday's 105-101 victory over the Thunder in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Doncic sealed the Game 3 win by winning a jump ball in the closing seconds and grabbing the loose ball before the buzzer. While Doncic's inspired play was a clear difference-maker in the victory, he left the court favoring his left ankle. His injury struggles were noticeable throughout the game, as his ankle and lingering knee issue limited his speed in transition. Still, Doncic played through the pain and delivered his best rebound total of the postseason. Although Doncic may find himself on the injury report for Monday evening's rematch, he'll carry a full load if his body can take the beating.

After a season-low nine points in Game 2, Irving came back with a diverse stat line, helping the Mavericks go up in the series. Irving complemented teammate Luka Doncic with a series of key plays in the closing minutes, draining all four of his shots in the final stanza. Irving led the team with seven assists, which marked the fourth time the All-Star exceeded his season average in that category during the playoffs.

Georgiev surrendered four goals on 31 shots en route to a 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2 on Thursday. He's 5-2 with a 3.10 GAA and an .886 save percentage in seven playoff contests this year. He struggled in the regular season, too, posting a 3.02 GAA and an .897 save percentage in 63 outings, but he still finished with an impressive 38-18-5 record thanks to the Avalanche's potent offense.

Chytil returned from a head injury Thursday, logging a shot and a hit in 12:02 of ice time en route to a 3-2 overtime victory over the Hurricanes. However, he didn't join the Rangers for Saturday's morning skate, which is what first put his status into question. Jonny Brodzinski will draw into the lineup due to Chytil's absence.

Andersen will return to the crease after Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 22 of 25 shots en route to a 3-2 overtime loss to the Rangers in Game 3 on Thursday. The 34-year-old Andersen has a 2.58 GAA and an .899 save percentage across seven playoff outings this year. The Rangers have made life difficult for opposing goaltenders by averaging 3.71 goals per contest during the 2024 postseason.

Shesterkin will aim to earn his eighth straight victory to open the 2024 playoffs. He's posted a 2.01 GAA and a .935 save percentage across his first seven postseason wins this year. Although the Rangers have an opportunity to complete the second-round sweep of Carolina, the Hurricanes have kept things close, forcing the last two contests to go to overtime while firing a combined 104 shots on Shesterkin over that span. As a result, it wouldn't be surprising to see the 28-year-old netminder challenged often with the Hurricanes' playoff hopes on the line.

Hakanpaa will miss his 23rd straight contest dating back to the regular season and his 10th consecutive absence in the playoffs. He earned two goals, 12 points, 56 shots on net, 123 blocked shots and 196 hits in 64 appearances during the 2023-24 campaign.

Jake Oettinger DAL GStars' Jake Oettinger: Back in goal for Game 3
10h agoOettinger will guard the road cage Saturday against Colorado in Game 3, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Oettinger has allowed seven goals on 57 shots in the first two games of the series, but he'll be back at it Saturday with Dallas looking to take the lead in the series. Oettinger is 5-4-0 in the postseason with a .914 save percentage and 2.24 GAA.
