Bud Dupree ATL OLB
Chargers' Bud Dupree: Set to join Chargers
16h agoDupree will sign a two-year contract with the Chargers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Dupree reportedly met with both the Falcons and Steelers recently in addition to the Chargers, and it appears that he'll end up with Los Angeles. The veteran edge rusher enjoyed a solid bounce-back campaign with Atlanta last season, recording 39 tackles (his most since 2019), including 6.5 sacks (his most since 2020). Dupree will add to an already formidable Chargers pass rush that also includes Joey Bosa (foot), Khalil Mack and Tuli Tuipulotu.

AJ Parker CAR CB
AJ Parker: Waived with non-football injury
21h agoThe Panthers waived Parker with an undisclosed non-football injury Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The details and severity of Parker's injury are unknown, other than the fact that it did not occur on the football field. The cornerback will now be available to be claimed off waivers should any other teams show interest.

Raequan Williams CAR DT
Raequan Williams: Gets waived/injured
21h agoWilliams was waived/injured by the Panthers on Friday due to an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
No details have been released regarding more information on the severity of Williams' injury. He will presumably revert to Carolina's injured reserve assuming he clears waivers, which means his 2024 season will be done unless both parties can reach an injury settlement.
-
Ilm Manning CAR OT
Ilm Manning: Waived/injured by Carolina
21h agoManning was waived/injured by the Panthers on Friday with an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
There is no word on the severity of Manning's injury. Assuming he clears waivers, the guard will subsequently revert to Carolina's injured reserve. From there, he would need to reach an injury settlement with the team at some point lest his 2024 season comes to a premature end.

Bradlee Anae NYJ DE
Falcons' Bradlee Anae: Inks deal with Atlanta
1d agoAnae (undisclosed) has agreed to terms on a contract with the Falcons, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
This news comes less than 24 hours after Anae's tryout in Atlanta. His 2023 season came to an end early, as the Jets placed him on injured reserve nearly one year ago with an undisclosed injury presumably suffered during offseason workouts. The defensive end's addition to Atlanta's roster indicates his health is back up to par, so he will now compete for a role in the trenches.

Gerrid Doaks HOU RB
Gerrid Doaks: Cut by Houston
2d agoThe Texans waived Doaks on Friday.
Doaks spent most of the past two seasons with Houston's practice squad and had signed a reserve/future contract with the club in January. However, he was cut Friday after the Texans reshaped their running back room in the offseason by trading for Joe Mixon, adding Jawhar Jordan in the draft and signing British Brooks as an undrafted free agent. Doaks has yet to play a snap in the NFL.

Danny Jansen TOR C
Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Gets rest for series finale
1m agoJansen is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Twins.
Jansen will sit for the series finale Sunday while Alejandro Kirk starts behind the dish and bats eighth against Twins right-hander Bailey Ober. Since May 1, Jansen has gone 10-for-28 with four doubles, two home runs and four RBI.
-
Cedric Mullins BAL CF
Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Sitting in second straight game
1m agoMullins is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
The lefty-hitting Mullins is on the bench for the second straight game against a right-handed starting pitcher, with Colton Cowser once again sliding over from left field to cover center field in Mullins' stead. The Orioles haven't indicated that Mullins is dealing with an injury or illness, so the back-to-back days out of the lineup likely indicate that he's at risk of moving into a part-time role, if he hasn't already. Mullins is off to a rough start to the season, having posted a career-low .611 OPS and career-worst 25.2 percent strikeout rate across 131 plate appearances.
-
Jorge Mateo BAL 2B
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Not starting Sunday
4m agoMateo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Mateo will hit the bench after he had started at second base in each of the last three games while going 3-for-11 with an RBI and three runs scored. Jordan Westburg will shift over from third base to cover the keystone in place of Mateo.
-
Jo Adell LAA RF
Angels' Jo Adell: Homers in second straight
5m agoAdell went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Saturday's win over the Royals.
Adell jumped on a hanging slider with two men on in the second and launched it 419 feet for his seventh home run of the season and the third in his last four games. The outfielder has also hit safely in five consecutive contests, racking up six RBI over that stretch to go along with five runs scored. Despite those impressive numbers, Adell is still batting just .176 in May and has recorded multiple hits in only one game this month.
-
George Springer TOR RF
Blue Jays' George Springer: Returns for series finale
9m agoSpringer is starting in right field and batting in the leadoff spot for Sunday's series finale against the Twins.
Springer didn't start in each of the last two games due to an illness, though he did pinch hit for Cavan Biggio in the eighth inning Saturday. Springer is slashing .206/.280/.298 with three home runs, six RBI and six stolen bases over 157 plate appearances this season.
-
Jose Cuas CHC RP
Cubs' Jose Cuas: Sent back to Triple-A
10m agoThe Cubs optioned Cuas to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Cuas' stay with the big club lasted just one day, with the Cubs sending him back to Triple-A to clear room on the 26-man active roster for right-hander Kyle Hendricks (back), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start Sunday in Pittsburgh. The 29-year-old righty covered two scoreless innings out of the bullpen in Saturday's 10-9 loss to the Pirates, striking out two while giving up one hit and one walk.
-
Dean Wade CLE PF
Cavaliers' Dean Wade: Plays 17 minutes in return
3h agoWade (knee) finished Saturday's 106-93 loss to Boston in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinal round with five points (2-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one block in 17 minutes.
Suiting up for the first time since March 8 after needing two months to heal up from a sprained knee, Wade captured a rotation spot and helped provide the Cavaliers with some much-needed depth in the frontcourt. Though he acquitted himself well during his time on the court, Wade is unlikely to see his role grow substantially as the series rolls along, especially once center Jarrett Allen (ribs) is back in action.
-
Max Strus CLE SG
Cavaliers' Max Strus: Struggles in Game 3 loss
3h agoStrus totaled six points (2-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists over 37 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 loss to the Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Strus continues to deliver nothing but mediocrity, scoring fewer than 15 points for the eighth time in the past nine games, all during the playoffs. If the Cavaliers have any chance of beating the Celtics, they are going to need Strus to rediscover his form from earlier in the season. Based on what we have seen during the postseason, that might be wishful thinking.
-
Sam Merrill CLE SG
Cavaliers' Sam Merrill: Fails to score in 11 minutes
3h agoMerrill notched zero points (0-1 FG) across 11 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 loss to the Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Merrill missed his only shot attempt, failing to have an impact once again. Although he did have a couple of bright spots throughout the season, Merrill has been a non-factor in the playoffs.
-
Oshae Brissett BOS SF
Celtics' Oshae Brissett: Rare appearance in win
3h agoBrissett closed Saturday's 106-93 victory over the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with no counting stats in one minute.
Brissett played one minute of garbage time as the Celtics held on for a relatively comfortable victory Saturday. Barring another sizeable margin, Brissett is unlikely to leave the bench on most nights, especially as we get deeper into the playoffs.
-
Sam Hauser BOS SF
Celtics' Sam Hauser: Limited in Game 3 win
3h agoHauser produced six points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt) in 10 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 win over the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Hauser connected on a pair of three-pointers, the highlight of what was another passive performance. Boston is generally running with a shallow rotation, with Payton Pritchard the only depth piece playing meaningful minutes. Having wrestled back home court advantage, Boston will be pushing for a 3-1 series lead when the two teams line up again Monday.
-
Jrue Holiday BOS PG
Celtics' Jrue Holiday: Strong offensive showing
3h agoHoliday logged 18 points (7-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and one block in 38 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 win over the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Holiday was aggressive from the get-go, looking to score from the opening tip. Although he ended with just 18 points, the bulk of those came in the first half, keeping the Celtics on the front foot. Now leading 2-1 in the series, Boston will look to repeat this performance Monday before heading home for Game 5.
-
Danton Heinen BOS C
Bruins' Danton Heinen: Ready to rock
4m agoHeinen (undisclosed) is available to play in Game 4 against the Panthers on Sunday, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.
Heinen is poised to occupy a middle-six role and see time on the second power-play unit after missing the past five contests. He has one assist, five shots on goal and nine hits in five appearances this postseason. Heinen will replace Brad Marchand (upper body) in the lineup.
-
Brad Marchand BOS LW
Bruins' Brad Marchand: Won't play Sunday
16m agoMarchand (upper body) won't be in the lineup for Game 4 versus Florida on Sunday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Marchand will miss at least one contest after being injured in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Panthers. He has racked up three goals and 10 points in 10 outings this postseason. Marchand could be replaced in the lineup by Danton Heinen (undisclosed), who has missed the past five games.
-
Sergei Bobrovsky FLA G
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Tending twine in Game 4
39m agoBobrovsky will defend the road net in Game 4 against Boston on Sunday, according to Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site.
Bobrovsky has stopped 29 of 32 shots en route to winning his past two outings. He has posted a 6-2 record with a 2.62 GAA and an .892 save percentage through eight appearances this postseason. The Panthers can push the Bruins to the brink of elimination with a victory in Sunday's contest.
-
Devon Toews COL D
Avalanche's Devon Toews: Pockets assist in loss
8h agoToews posted an assist, five shots on goal and two hits in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.
Toews helped out on a Mikko Rantanen tally in the second period. The helper was Toews' first point over three appearances in the second round. The defenseman is up to six points, 15 shots on net, 14 hits, eight blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through eight playoff contests. He continues to play on the top pairing, which gives him plenty of ice time with the Avalanche's top players.
-
Nathan MacKinnon COL C
Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Lends helper in loss
8h agoMacKinnon supplied an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.
MacKinnon was silenced in Game 2, ending an eight-game point streak. The 28-year-old was able to contribute the primary assist on Mikko Rantanen's goal in Game 3, though the Avalanche did little else on offense. MacKinnon is up to 12 points, 34 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through eight playoff contests, with six of his points coming on the power play.
-
Mikko Rantanen COL RW
Avalanche's Mikko Rantanen: Scores lone goal in Game 3 loss
8h agoRantanen scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.
Rantanen tied the game at 1-1 in the second period, but the Avalanche couldn't build on his goal. The winger was held off the scoresheet for the first time in the playoffs in Game 2, but he bounced back well. He's produced three goals, nine assists, 21 shots on net, 14 hits, 11 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over eight postseason appearances in a top-line role.
