However, he was cut Friday after the Texans reshaped their running back room in the offseason by trading for Joe Mixon, adding Jawhar Jordan in the draft and signing British Brooks as an undrafted free agent. Doaks has yet to play a snap in the NFL.

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Homers in Friday's loss
    8m ago

Estrada went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Reds.

Estrada is enjoying a strong start to May, hitting safely in eight of his 10 games this month. He's gone 12-for-40 (.300) in that span, adding two homers and eight RBI. The second baseman is at a .248/.276/.434 slash line with six homers, 21 RBI, 17 runs scored and one stolen base through 39 contests overall. Estrada is on pace for a career year in homers, but his overall performance is down and the Giants' weak offense hasn't helped him rack up more counting stats.

Giants' Logan Webb: Quality start in loss
    14m ago

Webb (3-4) allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out six over seven innings to take the loss versus the Reds on Friday.

Webb has walked multiple batters in three straight starts, but he was at least able to pitch deeper in this contest after failing to get past four innings in each of his last two outings. It's still an uncharacteristic rough patch for the Giants' ace. He's now at a 3.38 ERA, 139 WHIP and 42:14 K:BB through 53.1 innings across nine starts this season. Webb's projected for a tough home matchup with the Dodgers for his next outing.

    19m ago

Woo said Friday that he has been dealing with tightness in his forearm, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

The issue returned during the fifth inning of his start against the A's, causing him to be pulled as a precaution. Manager Scott Servais said he expects Woo to be fine, and the right-hander will likely be able to make his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Wednesday against Kansas City.

Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Third straight two-steal game
    20m ago

De La Cruz went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs scored in Friday's 4-2 win over the Giants.

De La Cruz stole a base after each of his hits, no doubt taking advantage of the Giants starting their fourth-string catcher, Jakson Reetz, in this contest. This was De La Cruz's third straight game with multiple steals, and he's achieved that seven times this season. The speedy infielder is up to 25 thefts on 29 attempts in 2024 while maintaining a .271/.370/.519 slash line through 38 games. He's added eight home runs, 20 RBI, 28 runs scored, seven doubles and a triple while serving as the Reds' No. 2 hitter.

Reds' Alexis Diaz: Closes out Friday's game
    24m ago

Diaz walked one and struck out two in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Friday's 4-2 win over the Giants.

Diaz had given up five runs over 1.1 innings across his last two outings, which came in non-save situations. This was his first save since April 27, and he's now 7-for-8 in save chances this season. A couple of implosions have wreaked havoc on Diaz's ratios -- he's at a 6.08 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 16:9 K:BB through 13.1 innings, but he's been scored upon in four of his 14 appearances. His walk rate is high, but it hasn't cost him the closer job yet.

Jokic, who ended one dime shy of a triple-double, tallied his second straight double-double while posting at least 15 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in every game of the conference semifinals thus far. Jokic looked much more comfortable in Game 3 than we saw earlier in the series, which could be great news for Denver as it tries to even the series.

Towns didn't get much going offensively outside of connecting on a team-high mark from three, ending the contest as one of four players with a double-digit point total to go along with a handful of rebounds in a losing effort. Towns failed to reach the 15-point mark for just the second time of the postseason, having scored at least 20 points in each of the first two games against Denver. Towns will have to come out in Game 4 looking for more opportunities offensively and displaying more aggressiveness if Minnesota wants to take a commanding 3-1 series advantage.
