Lamar Jackson BAL QB
Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Drops weight over offseason
11h agoJackson said Wednesday that he dropped weight over the offseason in an effort to be more agile in 2024, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson was listed at 215 pounds last season and 225 during the 2022 season. Earlier this month, Jackson indicated he was closer to 205 pounds, but it's unclear if that's his intended playing weight. An even more elusive Jackson would be dangerous to opposing defenses, and adding Derrick Henry and getting Mark Andrews back to full health after his season was derailed by a broken ankle could make the Baltimore offense even more lethal in 2024.

Uchenna Nwosu SEA LB
Seahawks' Uchenna Nwosu: Taking part in OTAs
12h agoNwosu (pectoral) participated in OTAs Wednesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Nwosu suffered a torn pec in Week 7 and missed the remainder of the season. He's already stated he expects to be a full participant for the start of training camp, and the veteran appears to be on track in his recovery. Nwosu tallied a career-best 9.5 sacks in 2022 and inked a three-year, $45 million extension last summer. He'll be counted on to help key Seattle's pass rush in his third season with the team in 2024.
-
Jerome Baker SEA OLB
Seahawks' Jerome Baker: Remains sidelined by injury
12h agoBaker (wrist) won't participate in OTAs this week, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Baker injured his right wrist in the Dolphins' Week 18 regular-season finale against the Bills and is still recovering after undergoing surgery. The 27-year-old linebacker inked a one-year deal with Seattle earlier in the offseason and will help replace the losses of Jordyn Brooks and Bobby Wagner in the middle of the defense.
-
Chuck Clark NYJ DB
Jets' Chuck Clark: Participating in OTAs
12h agoClark (knee) is participating fully in OTAs this week, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
The veteran safety tore his ACL last summer and missed the entire 2023 campaign after he was acquired from the Ravens last March. Clark re-signed with New York on a one-year deal this offseason and should have a chance to win a starting job in the Jets secondary.
-
Alex Bachman LV WR
Raiders' Alex Bachman: Signs with Las Vegas
12h agoThe Raiders signed Bachman on Wednesday.
Bachman hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since playing in three contests for the Giants in 2021. The wideout turns 28 years old next week and has become more of a camp body in the NFL.
-
Derrick Barnes DET LB
Lions' Derrick Barnes: Participating in OTAs
13h agoBarnes (knee) participated in OTAs Wednesday.
Barnes was injured on the first defensive series of the NFC Championship Game against the 49ers and never returned, but the issue clearly wasn't overly serious, and Barnes should be fine for a normal offseason. He started 13 of the 16 games he appeared in last season, finishing with a career-best 81 tackles (42 solo), one sack and one forced fumble on a career-high 705 defensive snaps.

Miguel Sano LAA 3B
Angels' Miguel Sano: Begins rehab assignment
6m agoSano (knee) went 1-for-2 with a single and a strikeout in his first rehab game with the Arizona Complex League Angels on Wednesday.
Sano is recovering from left knee inflammation, an injury which has kept him on the shelf for the entirety of May. He will eventually move up to a higher affiliate as he works his way back to the Angels' active roster. Sano was getting regular playing time before getting hurt and that should continue when he returns, especially with all the injuries the Halos are dealing with.

Ben Brown CHC RP
Cubs' Ben Brown: Drawing start Thursday
15m agoCubs manager Craig Counsell said that Brown will start Thursday's game against Atlanta at Wrigley Field, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Brown will pick up his fifth start of the season, filling the spot in the rotation that belonged to Kyle Hendricks before the veteran right-hander was moved to the bullpen earlier this week. Because he hasn't started since May 2 and will be pitching on three days' rest after covering two frames in relief Sunday, Brown may not be asked to give the Cubs more than three or four innings as he re-enters the rotation. Hendricks hasn't been used since his last start Friday and could be called upon to piggyback Brown, but Counsell hasn't outlined his plans for when Brown exits the contest. Brown may not be in line for a lengthy stay in the rotation, as the Cubs could get Jordan Wicks (forearm) back from the injured list next week to take over as their No. 5 starter.
-
Sean Newcomb OAK RP
Athletics' Sean Newcomb: On rehab assignment
16m agoNewcomb (knee) allowed two runs over one innings in his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Newcomb had his first rehab outing over the weekend with the Arizona Complex League Athletics before moving up to a higher affiliate. Making his way back from left knee inflammation, Newcomb will probably need a few more rehab appearances before Oakland adds him to their active roster.

Tyler Glasnow LAD SP
Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Takes second loss
16m agoGlasnow (6-2) was tagged with the loss against the Arizona on Wednesday, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out six over five innings.
Glasnow cruised through the first four innings before allowing three consecutive batters to reach base with one out in the fifth, eventually leading to three runs coming across for Arizona. He would make it through the frame but didn't return for the sixth, marking the second straight start in which he's been unable to make it through at least six innings. The right-hander is now 1-2 in May after going 5-1 in his first six decisions to open the campaign. However, he still sports a healthy 34:5 K:BB through four starts this month.
-
Chris Roycroft STL RP
Cardinals' Chris Roycroft: Shipped back to minors
24m agoThe Cardinals optioned Roycroft to Triple-A Memphis on Thursday.
Roycroft served as the 27th man for the Cardinals on Wednesday and didn't make an appearance. The big right-hander will rejoin the bullpen at Memphis.
-
Ryne Nelson ARI SP
Diamondbacks' Ryne Nelson: Silences Dodgers over five frames
2h agoNelson (3-3) earned the win Wednesday, shutting out the Dodgers over five innings while allowing five hits and three walks. He struck out five.
Nelson didn't draw the start but relieved Brandon Hughes with just two outs in the first inning before pitching all the way into the sixth. The right-hander struck out three of the first five batters he faced and induced 10 whiffs on the night, while also working his way out of multiple jams against a lethal Dodgers lineup. It was a great bounceback effort for Nelson after allowing a season-high eight runs in his previous outing. He's now won three of his last four decisions (spanning six outings).
-
Mike Conley MIN PG
Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Active and starting
13h agoConley (Achilles) is part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against Dallas.
Conley will play through a strained right soleus for a third straight game and will slot into his usual starting point guard role. In four regular-season games against the Mavericks this season, Conley averaged 10.8 points, 4.8 assists and 2.3 rebounds.
-
Luka Doncic DAL PG
Mavericks' Luka Doncic: Cleared for WCF Game 1
14h agoDoncic (knee/ankle) will play in Wednesday's Game 1 against the Timberwolves.
Doncic has been a regular on the injury report as he deals with lingering soreness in his left ankle and a sprained right knee. Even though he's banged up, Doncic played at least 40 minutes in all six games against OKC in the Western Conference Semifinals and closed out the series with three straight triple-doubles.
-
Xavier Tillman BOS C
Celtics' Xavier Tillman: Questionable for Game 2
17h agoTillman (personal) is questionable for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers on Thursday, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
Tillman missed the Celtics' 133-128 overtime win in Game 1 due to the personal matter. While he could rejoin the Celtics in advance of Thursday's contest, his presence -- or lack thereof -- shouldn't have a major impact on head coach Joe Mazzulla's rotation. Tillman has appeared in just three games all postseason -- all in blowouts -- as Al Horford and Luke Kornet have covered most of the minutes at center while Kristaps Porzingis (calf) has been sidelined for each of the Celtics' last seven contests.
-
Payton Pritchard BOS PG
Celtics' Payton Pritchard: Records eight points off bench
22h agoPritchard logged eight points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt) and two assists over 23 minutes during Tuesday's 133-128 overtime win over the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Celtics are using a very tight eight-man rotation right now, but Pritchard is pretty clearly the sixth man for the foreseeable future. He's been excellent through 11 playoff appearances, averaging 7.8 points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds while hitting 47.0 percent from the field and 44.7 percent from beyond the arc.
-
Jaylen Brown BOS SF
Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Notches 26 points in win
22h agoBrown contributed 26 points (10-20 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-8 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals across 44 minutes during Tuesday's 133-128 overtime victory over the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
This was a great response from Brown after he was held to 11 points in the final game of the previous series against the Cavaliers. He's been terrific for most of the playoffs, to be fair, as he's hitting 54.8 percent from the field while averaging 23.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
-
Jayson Tatum BOS PF
Celtics' Jayson Tatum: Drops 36 points in Game 1 win
22h agoTatum amassed 36 points (12-26 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 10-12 FT), 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals in 46 minutes during Tuesday's 133-128 overtime win over Indiana in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Everyone knows what Tatum can do offensively, and he's now scored at least 33 points in three of his last four games. However, it was his defense on Tyrese Haliburton that was ultimately the difference in this game. Tatum was clutch in overtime, and Boston will now head into Game 2 with a ton of momentum.
-
Stuart Skinner EDM G
Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Between pipes for Game 1
21h agoSkinner will tend the twine on the road in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Stars on Thursday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.
Skinner has faced less than 20 shots in each of his last four appearances, posting a 3-1 record to go with a 2.66 GAA and .848 save percentage over that stretch. Despite being benched for Games 4 and 5 of the Oilers' second-round series versus Vancouver, the 25-year-old backstop was able to reclaim the starting role from Calvin Pickard for the final two games of the best-of-seven series. Skinner will likely remain the preferred choice in net for Edmonton during the Western Conference Finals.
-
Sergei Bobrovsky FLA G
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: In goal Wednesday
23h agoBobrovsky will get the starting nod on the road against the Rangers in Game 1 on Wednesday.
Bobrovsky is sporting a 2.37 GAA and .902 save percentage in 11 postseason contests. The netminder is certainly getting plenty of offensive support, as the Panthers are scoring 3.55 goals per game in the postseason, the most of any team remaining in the playoffs. It figures to be a clash of backstops, as Bobrovsky will be squaring off with Igor Shesterkin on the other side.
-
Igor Shesterkin NYR G
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Slated to start Wednesday
23h agoShesterkin is expected to guard the home goal against Florida in Game 1 on Wednesday.
Shesterkin has led the Rangers to the Eastern Conference Finals by posting an 8-2 record, 2.40 GAA and .923 save percentage in 10 playoff appearances this year. However, the 28-year-old goaltender has allowed at least three goals in each of his past three starts. Florida has excelled offensively in the postseason, averaging 3.55 goals per contest, so the Panthers are expected to be a challenging adversary for Shesterkin.
-
Ryan Lindgren NYR D
Rangers' Ryan Lindgren: Set to play in Game 1
23h agoLindgren (undisclosed) is good to play in Game 1 against Florida on Wednesday, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today.
Lindgren's availability was put into question Tuesday because he stayed off the ice for a third straight day for maintenance reasons. It's possible the 26-year-old is playing through something, but it seems whatever that might be isn't enough to keep him out of the lineup. Lindgren has one assist, four PIM, 13 hits and 12 blocks in 10 playoff contests this year while averaging 20:36 of ice time.
-
Martin Pospisil CGY C
Flames' Martin Pospisil: Will miss rest of Worlds
23h agoPospisil (upper body) will miss the remainder of the 2024 IIHF World Championship, per Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun.
Pospisil was doing phenomenal at the tournament, providing three goals and seven points in seven games with Team Slovakia, but he sustained the injury during Monday's contest versus Sweden. The severity of his injury isn't known yet, so it's not clear if Pospisil's offseason training or availability for the start of the 2024-25 campaign will be impacted. The 24-year-old recorded eight goals, 24 points, 107 PIM and 238 hits in 63 contests with Calgary as a rookie in 2023-24.
-
Filip Kral TOR D
Penguins' Filip Kral: Signs one-year contract
2d agoKral inked a one-year, two-way deal with Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
The Maple Leafs originally drafted Kral under now-Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas, so his addition to the organization shouldn't be a complete surprise. The 24-year-old defenseman had five goals and 37 points in 46 contests with the Pelicans in Finland's top league. He struggled to show that level of offensive upside in previous AHL stints, so fantasy players probably don't need to jump on Kral even in dynasty formats.
