9h agoDell (leg) ran and performed drills Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Dell is recovering from what has been described as a "clean flesh wound" to his left leg sustained as an innocent bystander in a shooting in Florida in late April. The wideout's workout Saturday suggests that he's progressing well and confirms previous reports that the wound was minor. Given his activity Saturday, there appears to be a chance that Dell will participate in the Texans' OTAs, which begin Monday.

1d agoGodrick and teammate Wanya Morris were arrested on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges Thursday and released on bond Friday, according to Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff reports, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Godrick and Morris were arrested Thursday night and released on a $2,500 bond Friday. Possession of marijuana is illegal in the state of Kansas. Godrick is expected to compete for a roster spot in 2024 after spending his rookie year on Kansas City's practice squad in 2023. It's unclear whether Godrick will face supplemental discipline from the NFL or the Chiefs as a result of this arrest.

Kansas City is parting ways with Perine after he rushed for 77 yards on 22 carries while adding three catches for 33 yards in 2023. The 2020 fourth-round draft pick of the Jets spent his first two seasons in New York. Perine will look to latch on with another team prior to training camp.

T.J. Hockenson MIN TEVikings' T.J. Hockenson: No timetable for return
1d agoHockenson (knee) said "they haven't really put a timeline on it" when asked Wednesday about a potential date for his in-season return to action, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Hockenson was specifically asked on the NFL Schedule Release '24 show whether he expects to be playing Week 5 versus the Jets in London. The standout tight end said of his recovery from a right ACL and MCL tear he's "kinda taking it day by day, week by week," and that "the progression has been incredible" even though a specific return timetable remains uncertain. Hockenson underwent surgery late January and doesn't seem likely to be ready for Week 1, but Week 5 could be within the realm of possibility. The Vikings have a Week 6 bye, however, so it's possible that a more realistic target for Hockenson's debut could be Week 7 and beyond.

2d agoHarris' trainer said Friday the running back has dropped to around 235 pounds this offseason after playing at 242 during the 2023 season, and that he's increasingly motivated after the Steelers declined his fifth-year option, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
Harris is heading into the final season of his rookie deal with Pittsburgh, so there's no doubt about his motivation to log a productive year and earn sizeable payday for 2025. Playing at a lower weight could help Harris' efficiency metrics, and there's also some reason to be optimistic that he now finds himself in a better scenario than 2023, when he set new career-high marks with eight rushing touchdowns and 4.1 YPC. Rookie first-round pick Troy Fautanu should represent an upgrade to the O-line, and while there are question marks surrounding Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, both have the potential to command a more effective offense than Kenny Pickett did. Harris is capable of handling 20-plus touches but also dependent on volume to produce, making the emergence of Jaylen Warren the biggest threat to his fantasy prospects.

3m agoGorman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an RBI single and two total runs scored in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Red Sox.
Gorman has homered in each of the last two games, and he's gone deep three times with three multi-hit efforts over his last seven contests. The second baseman is up to a .201/.293/.396 slash line through 157 plate appearances after hitting as low as .172 and slugging as little as .319 on May 9. He's added seven homers, 18 RBI, 16 runs scored, six doubles and no stolen bases over 40 games while seeing a majority of the playing time at the keystone this year.

Trevor Megill MIL RPBrewers' Trevor Megill: Registers sixth save
4m agoMegill earned a save against the Astros on Saturday, allowing one hit and striking out three baters over one inning.
Megill gave up a two-out single to Jake Meyers but was otherwise dominant, recording all three of his outs via strikeout. He threw 12 of 16 pitches for strikes and recorded his fifth save over five appearances in March. Megill appears to be locked in as Milwaukee's closer, as no other Brewer has notched a save this month.

JoJo Romero STL RPCardinals' JoJo Romero: Allows run, snags win Saturday
6m agoRomero (1-0) allowed a run on three hits over one inning, taking a blown save but earning the win Saturday versus the Red Sox. He did not strike out or walk a batter.
Romero gave up a game-tying RBI double to Rob Refsnyder in the eighth inning, but the Cardinals answered with a five-run rally in their half of the frame. This was just the fourth run Romero's allowed all year, and just the third time he's given up multiple hits in an appearance. The southpaw has been excellent in a setup role with a 1.54 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 24:4 K:BB while adding 15 holds through 23.1 innings. Romero hasn't had a chance to challenge closer Ryan Helsley for the ninth inning yet, as the back end of the Cardinals' bullpen has been one of the team's few positives in 2024.

Bryse Wilson MIL RPBrewers' Bryse Wilson: Falls just short of five frames
8m agoWilson allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against Houston on Saturday.
Wilson was given a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the fifth inning, but he was pulled after giving up a one-out solo homer to Jake Meyers and a two-out single to Jose Altuve. The hook eliminated the right-hander's chance to qualify for the win, and it marked the second straight outing in which he's failed to go five frames. Still, Wilson has given up a tolerable four runs across 8.2 innings during those two contests, and he's recorded a 2.79 ERA across 38.2 innings on the season.

9m agoMikolas allowed one run on two hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings in a no-decision versus the Red Sox on Saturday.
Mikolas threw just 79 pitches (54 strikes), so it's possible manager Oliver Marmol didn't want the right-hander to go through the order a third time in a close game. The lone run on Mikolas' line was a solo home run by Rafael Devers in the fourth inning. Mikolas has allowed three runs or fewer in six of his outings this season, but he's given up five or more runs in his other four starts. He's at a 5.77 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 39:11 K:BB through 53 innings overall. The veteran is projected for a home start versus the rival Cubs his next time out.

12m agoAndujar (knee) will be evaluated by the Athletics on Monday after playing for a second consecutive day for Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday, MLB.com reports.
Andujar made his rehab debut for the Aviators on Thursday and returned to the field Saturday, going 0-for-3 while playing a full game in left field during the loss to El Paso. If Andujar feels good after playing back-to-back rehab games over the weekend, he may be deemed ready for activation early in the week.

1h agoDoncic racked up 29 points (9-15 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 10 rebounds, 10 assists and two steals over 45 minutes during Saturday's 117-116 victory over Oklahoma City in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Doncic did just enough to get his team over the line, recording his third straight triple-double despite dealing with multiple injuries. Heading into the Western Conference Finals, Dallas will be hoping that Doncic can continue to play through his ailments. With a physical matchup almost certainly on the cards, Doncic is simply going to have to absorb any contact that might come his way, while trying to maintain his composure.

1h agoJones totaled 22 points (8-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 40 minutes during Saturday's 117-116 victory over Oklahoma City in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Jones scored at least 17 points for the third straight game, playing a season-high 40 minutes as Dallas took care of business in front of their home fans. Jones' offensive output has been a blessing for the Mavericks, providing them with another viable scoring threat alongside Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic. Coming up against either the Nuggets or the Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals is a daunting task. If Dallas are to pose a serious threat, Jones will need to maintain his offensive momentum.

2h agoLively had 12 points (5-6 FG, 2-3 FT), 15 rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 29 minutes during Saturday's 117-116 victory over the Thunder in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Lively continues to play well above his age, producing when it mattered most as the Mavericks eliminated the Thunder. Despite coming off the bench, Lively played the majority of the center minutes, recording his second straight double-double. Dallas will face either the Timberwolves or the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, both teams providing Lively with elite opposition at the center position.

Williams played for just the second time in the past five games, logging four minutes as Luguentz Dort was benched due to foul trouble. Despite a somewhat fantasy-friendly game, Williams is nothing more than a depth piece for a Thunder team with high aspirations heading into next season. There is no reason to think he will play a significant role moving forward.

2h agoGilgeous-Alexander ended Saturday's 117-116 loss to Dallas in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 36 points (14-25 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 4-7 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and two blocks across 43 minutes.
Gilgeous-Alexander did everything he could to get the Thunder over the line Saturday, pouring in a game-high 36 points. While he ultimately fell short of his goal, enough can't be said about how good he was this season. The Thunder are just starting their journey and with so many draft picks to work with, there is scope for them to improve their roster sooner rather than later. Despite the disappointment, Gilgeous-Alexander is poised to continue his ascension and will likely be in the MVP discussion again next season.

2h agoGiddey closed Saturday's 117-116 loss to Dallas in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals with two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist in 10 minutes.
Giddey played just 10 minutes in the loss, ending what has been a disappointing season for the young Australian. Having started the majority of the season, he was moved to the bench in recent times. In fact, he played fewer than 15 minutes in five straight games to end the campaign, placing some doubt over what his role could look like in 2024/25.

Hronek has been a non-factor on offense this postseason, posting one helper, a minus-4 rating and 11 shots on net through 12 appearances. He's added 23 hits and 15 blocked shots while maintaining a top-pairing role.

2h agoPettersson recorded an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
This was Pettersson's second straight game with a helper, but he still hasn't been producing at the expected level. For the postseason, he's at six points, 20 shots, 23 hits, 11 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 12 appearances. He's at least looked a little better since moving to the wing alongside Elias Lindholm.

2h agoHoglander scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Hoglander offered a quick response to Dylan Holloway's opening tally in the first period, but the Canucks' offense stalled out after that. The goal was Hoglander's first this postseason, and he's added just one assist with eight shots on net, 13 hits and a minus-2 rating over 10 appearances. The winger has been listed on the second line recently, but he's played a limited role with no power-play time, so there's little reason to think he'll soon turn a corner on offense.

2h agoSilovs allowed five goals on 27 shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Silovs had his worst outing of the playoffs, squandering the Canucks' first chance to book a spot in the Western Conference Finals. The team in front of him was flat as well, registering a meager 15 shots on net, which is low even by their unimpressive shot volume for the postseason (21.1 shots per game). Silovs is 5-4 with a 2.89 GAA and an .898 save percentage through nine playoff outings. He's alternated wins and losses in the second round, but it's unclear if he'll get the nod at home for Game 7 on Monday or if head coach Rick Tocchet will turn to Casey DeSmith.

2h agoDraisaitl produced two assists, two hits, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Canucks in Game 6.
Draisaitl set up the Oilers' first and last goals, scored by Dylan Holloway and Evander Kane, respectively. The pair of helpers extended Draisaitl's playoff point streak to 11 contests, during which he has eight goals and 15 assists. He's added 42 shots on net, 10 PIM and a plus-2 rating this postseason. Draisaitl also became the third-fastest player in NHL history to 100 playoff points, doing so in just 60 appearances. Only Wayne Gretzky (46 games) and Mario Lemieux (50 games) did it faster.

2h agoMcDavid notched three assists, two shots on goal, two PIM, two hits and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Canucks in Game 6.
McDavid responded to his second scoreless outing of the playoffs with a showcase of playmaking. He set up goals by Zach Hyman, Evan Bouchard and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins as the Oilers took control Saturday and forced a Game 7 on Monday. McDavid is up to 21 points (two goals, 19 assists) with 31 shots on net, 25 hits and a plus-5 rating over 11 playoff appearances. He hasn't gone multiple games in a row without a point since a three-game slump from Nov. 6-11.
