Olumuyiwa Fashanu NYJ OT
Jets' Olumuyiwa Fashanu: Recovering from quad injury
7m agoFashanu strained his quadriceps while running the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and could miss some or all of OTAs due to the injury, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Rosenblatt described the injury as minor, so Fashanu should be recovered well before the start of the regular season, but the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft may not be ready to join his new teammates at the start of offseason workouts. The offensive tackle out of Penn State has been working off to the side with trainers during the Jets' rookie minicamp.

Bud Dupree ATL OLB
Chargers' Bud Dupree: Set to join Chargers
17h agoDupree will sign a two-year contract with the Chargers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Dupree reportedly met with both the Falcons and Steelers recently in addition to the Chargers, and it appears that he'll end up with Los Angeles. The veteran edge rusher enjoyed a solid bounce-back campaign with Atlanta last season, recording 39 tackles (his most since 2019), including 6.5 sacks (his most since 2020). Dupree will add to an already formidable Chargers pass rush that also includes Joey Bosa (foot), Khalil Mack and Tuli Tuipulotu.

AJ Parker CAR CB
AJ Parker: Waived with non-football injury
23h agoThe Panthers waived Parker with an undisclosed non-football injury Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The details and severity of Parker's injury are unknown, other than the fact that it did not occur on the football field. The cornerback will now be available to be claimed off waivers should any other teams show interest.

Raequan Williams CAR DT
Raequan Williams: Gets waived/injured
23h agoWilliams was waived/injured by the Panthers on Friday due to an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
No details have been released regarding more information on the severity of Williams' injury. He will presumably revert to Carolina's injured reserve assuming he clears waivers, which means his 2024 season will be done unless both parties can reach an injury settlement.
-
Ilm Manning CAR OT
Ilm Manning: Waived/injured by Carolina
23h agoManning was waived/injured by the Panthers on Friday with an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
There is no word on the severity of Manning's injury. Assuming he clears waivers, the guard will subsequently revert to Carolina's injured reserve. From there, he would need to reach an injury settlement with the team at some point lest his 2024 season comes to a premature end.

Bradlee Anae NYJ DE
Falcons' Bradlee Anae: Inks deal with Atlanta
1d agoAnae (undisclosed) has agreed to terms on a contract with the Falcons, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
This news comes less than 24 hours after Anae's tryout in Atlanta. His 2023 season came to an end early, as the Jets placed him on injured reserve nearly one year ago with an undisclosed injury presumably suffered during offseason workouts. The defensive end's addition to Atlanta's roster indicates his health is back up to par, so he will now compete for a role in the trenches.

Wenceel Perez DET CF
Tigers' Wenceel Perez: Sitting for series finale
2m agoPerez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
Perez will take a seat for the series finale after he had started in center field in each of the previous four games while going 4-for-17 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and two runs. Matt Vierling will replace Perez in center field.
-
Jake Rogers DET C
Tigers' Jake Rogers: Hitting bench Sunday
4m agoRogers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
Rogers will get a breather after he started in each of the past four games, with the last three coming behind the plate. Carson Kelly will step in for Rogers as the Tigers' starting catcher in the series finale.
-
Jake Meyers HOU CF
Astros' Jake Meyers: Goes to bench for series finale
7m agoMeyers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.
Meyers had started in center field in four of the Astros' past five games while recording four hits in 16 at-bats during that stretch. He seems to be the Astros' preferred option in center field for the time being, but he'll give way to rookie Joey Loperfido in the series finale.
-
George Soriano MIA RP
Marlins' George Soriano: Sent down to Triple-A
11m agoThe Marlins optioned Soriano to Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday.
Soriano was recalled by Miami on May 7 to add some bullpen depth. He appeared in two games since then, giving up four runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four over 4.2 frames. Soriano is up to a 9.26 ERA and 1.54 WHIP over 11.2 major-league innings this season.
-
JT Chargois MIA RP
Marlins' JT Chargois: Transferred to 60-day IL
17m agoThe Marlins transferred Chargois (neck) to the 60-day IL on Sunday.
Chargois began the season on the 15-day IL due to neck spasms that kept him out of action during spring training. He made three rehab appearances with Triple-A Jacksonville, but he suffered a setback and hasn't pitched since April 26. At this point, it's unclear how long Chargois will be out of action for.
-
Kevin Kiermaier TOR CF
Blue Jays' Kevin Kiermaier: Sitting in third straight game
18m agoKiermaier (illness) remains out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
Kiermaier will close the weekend without making a start during the Blue Jays' series with the Twins while he continues to recover from an illness. He felt well enough to enter Saturday's 10-8 win as a late-inning defensive replacement, so Kiermaier should be available off the bench again in the series finale.
-
Dean Wade CLE PF
Cavaliers' Dean Wade: Plays 17 minutes in return
5h agoWade (knee) finished Saturday's 106-93 loss to Boston in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinal round with five points (2-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one block in 17 minutes.
Suiting up for the first time since March 8 after needing two months to heal up from a sprained knee, Wade captured a rotation spot and helped provide the Cavaliers with some much-needed depth in the frontcourt. Though he acquitted himself well during his time on the court, Wade is unlikely to see his role grow substantially as the series rolls along, especially once center Jarrett Allen (ribs) is back in action.
-
Max Strus CLE SG
Cavaliers' Max Strus: Struggles in Game 3 loss
5h agoStrus totaled six points (2-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists over 37 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 loss to the Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Strus continues to deliver nothing but mediocrity, scoring fewer than 15 points for the eighth time in the past nine games, all during the playoffs. If the Cavaliers have any chance of beating the Celtics, they are going to need Strus to rediscover his form from earlier in the season. Based on what we have seen during the postseason, that might be wishful thinking.
-
Sam Merrill CLE SG
Cavaliers' Sam Merrill: Fails to score in 11 minutes
5h agoMerrill notched zero points (0-1 FG) across 11 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 loss to the Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Merrill missed his only shot attempt, failing to have an impact once again. Although he did have a couple of bright spots throughout the season, Merrill has been a non-factor in the playoffs.
-
Oshae Brissett BOS SF
Celtics' Oshae Brissett: Rare appearance in win
5h agoBrissett closed Saturday's 106-93 victory over the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with no counting stats in one minute.
Brissett played one minute of garbage time as the Celtics held on for a relatively comfortable victory Saturday. Barring another sizeable margin, Brissett is unlikely to leave the bench on most nights, especially as we get deeper into the playoffs.
-
Sam Hauser BOS SF
Celtics' Sam Hauser: Limited in Game 3 win
5h agoHauser produced six points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt) in 10 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 win over the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Hauser connected on a pair of three-pointers, the highlight of what was another passive performance. Boston is generally running with a shallow rotation, with Payton Pritchard the only depth piece playing meaningful minutes. Having wrestled back home court advantage, Boston will be pushing for a 3-1 series lead when the two teams line up again Monday.
-
Jrue Holiday BOS PG
Celtics' Jrue Holiday: Strong offensive showing
5h agoHoliday logged 18 points (7-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and one block in 38 minutes during Saturday's 106-93 win over the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Holiday was aggressive from the get-go, looking to score from the opening tip. Although he ended with just 18 points, the bulk of those came in the first half, keeping the Celtics on the front foot. Now leading 2-1 in the series, Boston will look to repeat this performance Monday before heading home for Game 5.
-
Danton Heinen BOS C
Bruins' Danton Heinen: Ready to rock
2h agoHeinen (undisclosed) is available to play in Game 4 against the Panthers on Sunday, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.
Heinen is poised to occupy a middle-six role and see time on the second power-play unit after missing the past five contests. He has one assist, five shots on goal and nine hits in five appearances this postseason. Heinen will replace Brad Marchand (upper body) in the lineup.
-
Brad Marchand BOS LW
Bruins' Brad Marchand: Won't play Sunday
2h agoMarchand (upper body) won't be in the lineup for Game 4 versus Florida on Sunday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Marchand will miss at least one contest after being injured in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Panthers. He has racked up three goals and 10 points in 10 outings this postseason. Marchand could be replaced in the lineup by Danton Heinen (undisclosed), who has missed the past five games.
-
Sergei Bobrovsky FLA G
Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Tending twine in Game 4
2h agoBobrovsky will defend the road net in Game 4 against Boston on Sunday, according to Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site.
Bobrovsky has stopped 29 of 32 shots en route to winning his past two outings. He has posted a 6-2 record with a 2.62 GAA and an .892 save percentage through eight appearances this postseason. The Panthers can push the Bruins to the brink of elimination with a victory in Sunday's contest.
-
Devon Toews COL D
Avalanche's Devon Toews: Pockets assist in loss
10h agoToews posted an assist, five shots on goal and two hits in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.
Toews helped out on a Mikko Rantanen tally in the second period. The helper was Toews' first point over three appearances in the second round. The defenseman is up to six points, 15 shots on net, 14 hits, eight blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through eight playoff contests. He continues to play on the top pairing, which gives him plenty of ice time with the Avalanche's top players.
-
Nathan MacKinnon COL C
Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Lends helper in loss
10h agoMacKinnon supplied an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.
MacKinnon was silenced in Game 2, ending an eight-game point streak. The 28-year-old was able to contribute the primary assist on Mikko Rantanen's goal in Game 3, though the Avalanche did little else on offense. MacKinnon is up to 12 points, 34 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through eight playoff contests, with six of his points coming on the power play.
-
Mikko Rantanen COL RW
Avalanche's Mikko Rantanen: Scores lone goal in Game 3 loss
10h agoRantanen scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.
Rantanen tied the game at 1-1 in the second period, but the Avalanche couldn't build on his goal. The winger was held off the scoresheet for the first time in the playoffs in Game 2, but he bounced back well. He's produced three goals, nine assists, 21 shots on net, 14 hits, 11 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over eight postseason appearances in a top-line role.
