Tank Dell HOU WR
Texans' Tank Dell: Engages in workout Saturday
9h agoDell (leg) ran and performed drills Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Dell is recovering from what has been described as a "clean flesh wound" to his left leg sustained as an innocent bystander in a shooting in Florida in late April. The wideout's workout Saturday suggests that he's progressing well and confirms previous reports that the wound was minor. Given his activity Saturday, there appears to be a chance that Dell will participate in the Texans' OTAs, which begin Monday.

Chukwuebuka Godrick KC OT
Chiefs' Chukwuebuka Godrick: Arrested on misdemeanor charge
1d agoGodrick and teammate Wanya Morris were arrested on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges Thursday and released on bond Friday, according to Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff reports, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Godrick and Morris were arrested Thursday night and released on a $2,500 bond Friday. Possession of marijuana is illegal in the state of Kansas. Godrick is expected to compete for a roster spot in 2024 after spending his rookie year on Kansas City's practice squad in 2023. It's unclear whether Godrick will face supplemental discipline from the NFL or the Chiefs as a result of this arrest.

Wanya Morris KC OT
Chiefs' Wanya Morris: Arrested for misdemeanor possession
1d agoMorris and teammate Chukwuebuka Godrick were arrested on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges Thursday and released on bond Friday, according to Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff reports, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Morris and Godrick were arrested Thursday night and released on a $2,500 bond Friday. Possession of marijuana is illegal in the state of Kansas. Morris is expected to compete for the starting left tackle spot for the Chiefs in 2024. It's unclear whether Morris will face supplemental discipline from the NFL or the Chiefs as a result of this arrest.

Lamical Perine KC RB
La'Mical Perine: Waived by KC
1d agoPerine was waived by the Chiefs on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Kansas City is parting ways with Perine after he rushed for 77 yards on 22 carries while adding three catches for 33 yards in 2023. The 2020 fourth-round draft pick of the Jets spent his first two seasons in New York. Perine will look to latch on with another team prior to training camp.

T.J. Hockenson MIN TE
Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: No timetable for return
1d agoHockenson (knee) said "they haven't really put a timeline on it" when asked Wednesday about a potential date for his in-season return to action, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Hockenson was specifically asked on the NFL Schedule Release '24 show whether he expects to be playing Week 5 versus the Jets in London. The standout tight end said of his recovery from a right ACL and MCL tear he's "kinda taking it day by day, week by week," and that "the progression has been incredible" even though a specific return timetable remains uncertain. Hockenson underwent surgery late January and doesn't seem likely to be ready for Week 1, but Week 5 could be within the realm of possibility. The Vikings have a Week 6 bye, however, so it's possible that a more realistic target for Hockenson's debut could be Week 7 and beyond.

Najee Harris PIT RB
Steelers' Najee Harris: Dropping weight for contract season
2d agoHarris' trainer said Friday the running back has dropped to around 235 pounds this offseason after playing at 242 during the 2023 season, and that he's increasingly motivated after the Steelers declined his fifth-year option, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
Harris is heading into the final season of his rookie deal with Pittsburgh, so there's no doubt about his motivation to log a productive year and earn sizeable payday for 2025. Playing at a lower weight could help Harris' efficiency metrics, and there's also some reason to be optimistic that he now finds himself in a better scenario than 2023, when he set new career-high marks with eight rushing touchdowns and 4.1 YPC. Rookie first-round pick Troy Fautanu should represent an upgrade to the O-line, and while there are question marks surrounding Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, both have the potential to command a more effective offense than Kenny Pickett did. Harris is capable of handling 20-plus touches but also dependent on volume to produce, making the emergence of Jaylen Warren the biggest threat to his fantasy prospects.

Seth Brown OAK LF
Athletics' Seth Brown: Hits two-run homer
2m agoBrown went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Royals.
Brown tied the game at 2-2 with his second-inning blast off Seth Lugo. The homer was Brown's fourth hit over 13 games in May -- he's batting just .138 for the month and .179 for the year. The outfielder has added a .546 OPS, four homers, 11 RBI, six runs scored, two stolen bases and three doubles through 120 plate appearances. Brown's poor hitting has cost him playing time recently, with Brent Rooker picking up playing time in left field at his expense. Brown can also play in right field, where he's competing with Tyler Nevin for at-bats.
-
Joe Boyle OAK SP
Athletics' Joe Boyle: Bullpen session on tap
3m agoBoyle (back) is slated to throw a "two-up" bullpen session Sunday, MLB.com reports.
The right-hander will take an important step in his recovery with the session, which will see Boyle participate in separate throwing sessions with rest periods in between. If Boyle proves capable of tolerating the activity well, he could potentially be activated when first eligible Tuesday.
-
Ross Stripling OAK SP
Athletics' Ross Stripling: Takes third straight loss
6m agoStripling (1-8) allowed four runs on nine hits and struck out two without walking a batter over five-plus innings, taking the loss Saturday versus the Royals.
Stripling has lost three straight starts, though he kept the ball in the yard and didn't walk a batter for the first time in that span. The veteran right-hander gave up two runs in the first inning and then ran into trouble again in the fifth and the sixth. Stripling has a 5.19 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 32:12 K:BB over 52 innings across 10 starts this season. The Athletics' rotation has been hammered with injuries, so he's at little risk of slipping out of a starting role any time soon. Stripling is projected to make his next start at home versus the Astros.
-
Byron Buxton MIN CF
Twins' Byron Buxton: Notches RBI in return
6m agoBuxton went 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI in Saturday's loss to the Guardians.
Buxton was activated from the injured list Saturday after missing over two weeks due to right knee inflammation. The outfielder helped Minnesota avoid being shut out, plating the team's first run in the ninth inning with a single to right field. Buxton is slashing .250/.298/.385 with a home run, 12 RBI, 13 runs and a stolen base through 104 plate appearances this season.
-
Kyle Isbel KC CF
Royals' Kyle Isbel: Homers in Saturday's win
11m agoIsbel went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.
The homer was Isbel's first since April 29. The outfielder has seen a dip in playing time in May, in part because he's hitting .222 (8-for-36) over 11 contests this month. Overall, he has a .218/.262/.361 slash line with four homers, three stolen bases, 12 RBI, 15 runs scored, three doubles and a triple over 127 plate appearances. Isbel will likely continue to be out of the lineup versus most southpaws, with Garrett Hampson or Dairon Blanco as options to pick up the short side of a platoon in center field.
-
Tyler Freeman CLE CF
Guardians' Tyler Freeman: Perfect at plate Saturday
13m agoFreeman went 4-for-4 with a walk, a double, three runs, three RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 11-4 victory versus Minnesota.
Freeman batted out of the leadoff spot for the sixth straight contest and broke out with the first four-hit game of his career. Among those knocks was a run-scoring double and a two-run single. Freeman is still batting just .221 on the season, but he may be rounding into form, as he's gone 8-for-17 with a 4:1 BB:K during his current five-game hitting streak.

Luka Doncic DAL PG
Mavericks' Luka Doncic: Triples-doubles in Game 6 win
1h agoDoncic racked up 29 points (9-15 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 10 rebounds, 10 assists and two steals over 45 minutes during Saturday's 117-116 victory over Oklahoma City in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Doncic did just enough to get his team over the line, recording his third straight triple-double despite dealing with multiple injuries. Heading into the Western Conference Finals, Dallas will be hoping that Doncic can continue to play through his ailments. With a physical matchup almost certainly on the cards, Doncic is simply going to have to absorb any contact that might come his way, while trying to maintain his composure.
-
Derrick Jones Jr. DAL SF
Mavericks' Derrick Jones: Pours in 22 points Saturday
1h agoJones totaled 22 points (8-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 40 minutes during Saturday's 117-116 victory over Oklahoma City in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Jones scored at least 17 points for the third straight game, playing a season-high 40 minutes as Dallas took care of business in front of their home fans. Jones' offensive output has been a blessing for the Mavericks, providing them with another viable scoring threat alongside Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic. Coming up against either the Nuggets or the Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals is a daunting task. If Dallas are to pose a serious threat, Jones will need to maintain his offensive momentum.
-
Dereck Lively II DAL C
Mavericks' Dereck Lively: Stands tall in victory
1h agoLively had 12 points (5-6 FG, 2-3 FT), 15 rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 29 minutes during Saturday's 117-116 victory over the Thunder in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Lively continues to play well above his age, producing when it mattered most as the Mavericks eliminated the Thunder. Despite coming off the bench, Lively played the majority of the center minutes, recording his second straight double-double. Dallas will face either the Timberwolves or the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals, both teams providing Lively with elite opposition at the center position.
-
Kenrich Williams OKC SG
Thunder's Kenrich Williams: Back in rotation Saturday
1h agoWilliams provided two points (1-1 FG) and one rebound across three minutes during Saturday's 117-116 loss to the Mavericks in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Williams played for just the second time in the past five games, logging four minutes as Luguentz Dort was benched due to foul trouble. Despite a somewhat fantasy-friendly game, Williams is nothing more than a depth piece for a Thunder team with high aspirations heading into next season. There is no reason to think he will play a significant role moving forward.
-
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OKC SG
Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Goes down swinging
1h agoGilgeous-Alexander ended Saturday's 117-116 loss to Dallas in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 36 points (14-25 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 4-7 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and two blocks across 43 minutes.
Gilgeous-Alexander did everything he could to get the Thunder over the line Saturday, pouring in a game-high 36 points. While he ultimately fell short of his goal, enough can't be said about how good he was this season. The Thunder are just starting their journey and with so many draft picks to work with, there is scope for them to improve their roster sooner rather than later. Despite the disappointment, Gilgeous-Alexander is poised to continue his ascension and will likely be in the MVP discussion again next season.
-
Josh Giddey OKC PG
Thunder's Josh Giddey: Limited role Saturday
1h agoGiddey closed Saturday's 117-116 loss to Dallas in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals with two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist in 10 minutes.
Giddey played just 10 minutes in the loss, ending what has been a disappointing season for the young Australian. Having started the majority of the season, he was moved to the bench in recent times. In fact, he played fewer than 15 minutes in five straight games to end the campaign, placing some doubt over what his role could look like in 2024/25.

Filip Hronek VAN D
Canucks' Filip Hronek: Offers helper Saturday
1h agoHronek notched an assist, three hits and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Hronek has been a non-factor on offense this postseason, posting one helper, a minus-4 rating and 11 shots on net through 12 appearances. He's added 23 hits and 15 blocked shots while maintaining a top-pairing role.
-
Elias Pettersson VAN C
Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Notches assist in loss
1h agoPettersson recorded an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
This was Pettersson's second straight game with a helper, but he still hasn't been producing at the expected level. For the postseason, he's at six points, 20 shots, 23 hits, 11 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 12 appearances. He's at least looked a little better since moving to the wing alongside Elias Lindholm.
-
Nils Hoglander VAN LW
Canucks' Nils Hoglander: Nets lone goal in loss
2h agoHoglander scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Hoglander offered a quick response to Dylan Holloway's opening tally in the first period, but the Canucks' offense stalled out after that. The goal was Hoglander's first this postseason, and he's added just one assist with eight shots on net, 13 hits and a minus-2 rating over 10 appearances. The winger has been listed on the second line recently, but he's played a limited role with no power-play time, so there's little reason to think he'll soon turn a corner on offense.
-
Arturs Silovs VAN G
Canucks' Arturs Silovs: Falters in Game 6
2h agoSilovs allowed five goals on 27 shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Silovs had his worst outing of the playoffs, squandering the Canucks' first chance to book a spot in the Western Conference Finals. The team in front of him was flat as well, registering a meager 15 shots on net, which is low even by their unimpressive shot volume for the postseason (21.1 shots per game). Silovs is 5-4 with a 2.89 GAA and an .898 save percentage through nine playoff outings. He's alternated wins and losses in the second round, but it's unclear if he'll get the nod at home for Game 7 on Monday or if head coach Rick Tocchet will turn to Casey DeSmith.
-
Leon Draisaitl EDM C
Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Keeps rolling with two helpers
2h agoDraisaitl produced two assists, two hits, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Canucks in Game 6.
Draisaitl set up the Oilers' first and last goals, scored by Dylan Holloway and Evander Kane, respectively. The pair of helpers extended Draisaitl's playoff point streak to 11 contests, during which he has eight goals and 15 assists. He's added 42 shots on net, 10 PIM and a plus-2 rating this postseason. Draisaitl also became the third-fastest player in NHL history to 100 playoff points, doing so in just 60 appearances. Only Wayne Gretzky (46 games) and Mario Lemieux (50 games) did it faster.
-
Connor McDavid EDM C
Oilers' Connor McDavid: Trio of helpers in win
2h agoMcDavid notched three assists, two shots on goal, two PIM, two hits and a plus-3 rating in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Canucks in Game 6.
McDavid responded to his second scoreless outing of the playoffs with a showcase of playmaking. He set up goals by Zach Hyman, Evan Bouchard and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins as the Oilers took control Saturday and forced a Game 7 on Monday. McDavid is up to 21 points (two goals, 19 assists) with 31 shots on net, 25 hits and a plus-5 rating over 11 playoff appearances. He hasn't gone multiple games in a row without a point since a three-game slump from Nov. 6-11.
