4m agoMary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer and Zac Jackson of The Athletic suggest that Tillman is a candidate to take a step forward in his second season as a pro.
Per Cabot, the Browns figure to frequently employ Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore in three-receiver sets, but Tillman nonetheless should see his share of opportunities as the season progresses, especially if injuries hit the aforementioned trio. As a rookie, the 2023 third-rounder recorded a 21/224/0 receiving line on 44 targets in 14 regular-season games, but if he's able to carve out steadier playing time in 2024, the 6-3, 215-pounder -- who missed Cleveland's wild-card loss to the Texans with a concussion -- could emerge as a solid complementary option alongside the team's top pass-catchers. Also in the mix for snaps in the Browns' WR corps are 2022 third-rounder David Bell and 2024 fifth-rounder Jamari Thrash.

7m agoLos Angeles waived Skowronek on Thursday, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.
Skowronek, a 2021 seventh-round pick, finished his third season with the Rams with a career-low 66 receiving yards across 17 appearances, while mostly contributing on special teams. The soon-to-be 27-year-old is versatile enough to line up in a variety of roles on offense, so it's a bit of a surprise to see him be cut before training camp. He figures to resurface in a depth role elsewhere in the league.

Allen Robinson PIT WRGiants' Allen Robinson: Seeking rebound with Big Blue
2h agoRobinson signed a contract with the Giants on Thursday, ESPN.com reports.
Robinson was cut by the Steelers earlier this offseason in a move to save salary cap space, and he now gets an opportunity to reignite his career in New York, where there's a need for a big-bodied target for Daniel Jones (knee) while Darren Waller's future remains in flux. Malik Nabers, taken sixth overall in April's draft, figures to dominate the Giants' wide receiver opportunities out of the gate, while Darius Slayton (thumb) and Wan'Dale Robinson seem likely to also start in three-wide sets. Robinson racked up just 34 catches for 280 yards on 49 targets with Pittsburgh last season, despite suiting up for all 17 games, so he's no lock to beat out Jalin Hyatt for the No. 4 role this offseason.

13h agoDavidson (undisclosed) is competing for one of the Bills' final roster spots at tight end this offseason, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Davidson missed the entire 2023 campaign after the Bills placed him on injured reserve last June. The nature of the 25-year-old's injury was never disclosed, though he looks to be past the issue now that he's being viewed as a candidate for a depth role at tight end. Davidson's primary competition for slotting behind Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox should come from Tre' McKitty and Quintin Morris.

13h agoVorhees (knee) was an active participant in the Ravens' rookie minicamp last Friday through Monday, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports.
Vorhees missed his entire rookie season after suffering a torn ACL during the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. While he has yet to participate in any padded sessions, the 25-year-old appears to be back to full health for this year's rookie minicamp. Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh also said that Vorhees will compete for a starting job at guard during training camp.

15h agoThe Seahawks waived Cordeiro on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Cordeiro landed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent Friday, but his stint with the organization proved to be short lived. The 24-year-old quarterback out of San Jose State would have likely competed for a spot on the Seahawks' practice squad this offseason, but he'll now look to latch on elsewhere before NFL training camps get underway this summer.

2m agoTucker went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Yankees.
Tucker tallied a homer in his third straight game by taking Carlos Rodon yard in the opening frame. He's also mashed six of his 11 homers this season in his last ten contests, though he has only three additional hits in that span. Overall, it's been an excellent start to the campaign for Tucker, as he has also chipped in five stolen bases, 25 runs and 25 RBI across 36 contests.

9m agoMeyers went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI on Wednesday against the Yankees.
Meyers had emerged as one of the primary playing-time losers as a result of Joey Loperfido's promotion. However, Loperfido has sat in each of Houston's last two games, and Meyers has delivered on the opportunity to start those contests by going a combined 3-for-8. Meyers is still likely to lose out in the long term, but the Astros may continue to give him run as Lopefido finds his footing in the big leagues.

Charlie Blackmon COL RFRockies' Charlie Blackmon: Productive in loss
15m agoBlackmon went 2-for-4 with two RBI, two runs scored and a walk Wednesday against the Giants.
Blackmon delivered a pair of separate RBI knocks to snap a skid of 15 starts without collecting multiple hits. He's struggled to just a .616 OPS across 112 plate appearances to begin the season, though both his barrel and hard-hit rate remain in line with his more productive recent campaigns. If those skills stick, Blackmon should start to see better results, particularly at home.

Eduardo Rodriguez ARI SPDiamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez: Encouraging MRI results
32m agoRodriguez is close to being able to begin a throwing program after an MRI on Wednesday showing healing in his left shoulder, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
Rodriguez has been sidelined all season and had to be shut down from throwing in mid-April after he felt renewed tightness in his shoulder. However, it appears the recent period of rest did him some good and he's almost ready to ramp things back up again. The left-hander is still likely at least a month or so away from being able to join the Diamondbacks' rotation.

Freddy Tarnok OAK RPAthletics' Freddy Tarnok: Starts up rehab assignment
33m agoTarnok (hip) struck out one batter and allowed one hit over a scoreless inning in his first rehab start Wednesday with Triple-A Las Vegas.
Tarnok tossed only 10 pitches before his day came to an end, but the light workload could have been part of a pre-planned arrangement as the right-hander slowly ramps his way back up from right hip surgery, which he underwent in late August. The 25-year-old resides on the Athletics' 60-day injured list and won't be eligible for activation until late May, so he'll have plenty of time to build up his innings and pitch counts as he stretches back out for a starting role. Tarnok has two minor-league options remaining, so he could end up sticking around with Las Vegas if Oakland doesn't have an opening for him in the rotation once his 30-day rehab window closes.

37m agoSmith (shoulder) began a rehab assignment Wednesday with Triple-A Syracuse, giving up one run on one hit over an inning of relief.
Smith served up a solo home run but otherwise navigated a 13-pitch eighth inning without much difficulty. The right-hander has been on the 15-day injured list since April 27 with shoulder inflammation and could need another rehab appearance or two before rejoining the Mets bullpen.

11h agoMcBride amassed four points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and one assist across 20 minutes during Wednesday's 130-121 victory over the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
McBride managed just four points in the win, struggling to find any real rhythm on the offensive end. Although his role has been somewhat limited to this point, OG Anunoby (hamstring) going down could open up an interesting opportunity. Should Anunoby be forced to miss time, look for McBride to potentially slide into the starting lineup for Game 3.

11h agoBurks closed Wednesday's 130-121 victory over the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with zero points (0-1 FG) in one minute.
Burks dusted himself off Wednesday, leaving the bench for the first time this postseason. Jalen Brunson was forced to the locker room during the second quarter, affording one minute of playing time to Burks. Given Brunson was able to return to the game, it is unlikely we see Burks again anytime soon.

Isaiah Hartenstein NY CKnicks' Isaiah Hartenstein: Flirts with triple-double in win
11h agoHartenstein contributed 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-4 FT), 12 rebounds, eight assists and one block over 39 minutes during Wednesday's 130-121 victory over the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Hartenstein continues to impress for the Knicks, falling two assists short of a triple-double. With Mitchell Robinson (ankle) likely out for the remainder of the postseason, Hartenstein should be in line for heavy minutes moving forward. It's been a breakout season for Hartenstein, one that should have him well-placed to receive a sizeable upgrade when it comes time to discuss his future contract.

11h agoSheppard chipped in 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-4 3Pt) and one assist over 20 minutes during Wednesday's 130-121 loss to New York in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Sheppard continues to play meaningful minutes for the Pacers, connecting on three triples en route to 11 points. While the Pacers ended with six players logging double-digit scoring, it was still not enough to get over the hump in front of a vocal New York crowd. Sheppard should continue to serve as a three-point threat off the bench.

11h agoHaliburton totaled 34 points (11-19 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds, nine assists and three steals in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 130-121 loss to New York in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Haliburton finally found some rhythm on the offensive end, putting up a game-high 34 points, including seven triples. Although the Pacers managed to put up a respectable total, their defense simply wasn't up to the task of slowing down the Knicks. With the series now shifting to Indiana, Haliburton will look to build on this performance in the hopes of keeping the series alive.

Nesmith managed just six points in the loss, continuing his disappointing postseason. While he does provide the Pacers with a reliable defensive asset, his inability to score on a consistent basis remains a concern. The series will now head to Indiana, where the Pacers will look to secure their first win.

Conor Garland VAN RWCanucks' Conor Garland: Nets game-winner in opener
1h agoGarland scored a goal on two shots in Wednesday's 5-4 victory over Edmonton in Game 1.
Garland completed Vancouver's four-goal comeback late in the third period, beating Stuart Skinner off the rush for the game-winner. It's the first goal and third point for Garland so far in the playoffs. He had 20 goals and 47 points in 82 regular-season games while working primarily in a bottom-six role.

1h agoZadorov logged a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Oilers in Game 1.
Zadorov scored the tying goal 13:47 into the third period, beating Stuart Skinner with a one-timed slapshot, before adding an assist less than a minute later on Conor Garland's game-winner. The 29-year-old Zadrov's been productive in the playoffs, tallying three goals and five points in seven games despite skating on Vancouver's third pairing. He totaled six goals and 20 points in 65 regular-season contests between the Canucks and Flames.

Lindholm set up Dakota Joshua's tally 53 seconds into the first period before adding a goal later in the frame, flipping a backhander past Stuart Skinner to cut the deficit to 4-2. It's the second multi-point game of the postseason for Lindholm, who now has three goals and five points in seven contests. He totaled 15 goals and 44 points in 75 regular-season games between Vancouver and Calgary.

1h agoHyman scored a pair of goals in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Canucks in Game 1.
Hyman opened the scoring with a power-play marker 2:11 into the first period before extending Edmonton's lead to 4-1 with another tally in the second, sliding a wrister under the pad of Arturs Silovs. Hyman's picked up where he left off in the regular season -- he's scored at least one goal in five of his six playoff games, totaling nine goals and 10 points.

Joshua got Vancouver on the board in the opening minute of the second period, beating Stuart Skinner off a rebound, before adding a pair of assists later in the contest. The goal was Joshua's first since he scored a pair in the opening game of Round 1 against Nashville. The 27-year-old winger now has three goals and seven points through seven games in the playoffs after tallying a career-high 32 points (18 goals, 14 assists) in 63 regular-season contests.

Patrick Brown BOS CBruins' Patrick Brown: Sent down to minors
2h agoBrown was reassigned to AHL Providence on Thursday.
While Brown could technically be added to the roster ahead of Game 3 versus the Panthers on Friday, he seems more likely to suit up for Providence in their Calder Cup matchup with AHL Hartford on Friday. Still, the veteran center did log 8:27 of ice time in Game 1 and could see more opportunities with the Bruins during the best-of-seven series.
